DoseBuilt AI

For the current DoseBuilt TestFlight beta · Updated October 10, 2026

Use AI Coach to ask about your training, food and weight trend. Scan meal and Describe food help you prepare food estimates to review before logging.

You choose what to send. AI sharing needs your separate agreement in Membership, even if you already have a subscription. Reading this page does not enable sharing.

What Coach receives

When you tap Send, your message goes through DoseBuilt to OpenAI to generate an AI reply. DoseBuilt uses your signed-in account to check access. The app gives you two optional context switches:

  • Include recent conversation: sends up to the last three complete question-and-answer pairs, including any personal information in those messages.
  • Include my fitness summaries: sends derived information from your manually logged workouts and weight.

For a new agreement, both options start on unless you previously turned one off. Earlier explicit opt-outs are kept. Turn both options off to send only your new message as Coach context.

Coach gives general fitness and nutrition information. AI can make mistakes. Check important information and consult a qualified professional for medical decisions. Coach cannot edit your logs or targets.

Log summaries

Summaries help Coach discuss the information you have recorded without attaching your full diary. Depending on what is available, weight-trend builds can include:

  • Your selected weight goal and requested weekly weight-change rate may be sent to DoseBuilt to validate the summary. These fields are omitted from automatic context sent to OpenAI.
  • Your supported seven-day weight-trend pace and information about the weigh-ins behind it: coverage, the age of the latest weigh-in, whether the exact starting boundary was recorded, earlier supporting readings and the span of the recent supporting weigh-ins.
  • Weight-trend review status and weigh-in support, including whether there is enough recent weight history to describe a pace.
  • Completed workout counts, plus the workout comparisons described below. The weight summary's workout count covers the latest 28 fully elapsed local days, excluding today.

Automatic fitness summaries in weight-trend builds do not include calorie targets, recorded intake or food-log coverage. Weight-trend reviews do not calculate calorie-target adjustments. Coach can still discuss food and nutrition using what you choose to share. Older installed builds may still send their earlier fitness summaries as described in the TestFlight Privacy Notice.

Automatic summaries exclude raw log records, custom exercise names, workout notes, meal photos, receipts and account credentials. Anything you type into a message, or leave in included conversation, is still sent. Avoid passwords, identity documents and unnecessary identifying information.

Workout comparisons

The workout summary looks at completed sessions from the last 56 days, including today, and includes up to eight built-in exercises. It can share their names and equipment, session counts, compared loads and reps or estimated strength, and performance trends. Counts may be capped; additional exercises can be left out.

For each supported lift, DoseBuilt compares its latest two working sessions with the preceding two. It compares the mean of the best loads at the same rep count when possible. Otherwise, it uses an Epley one-rep-max estimate from sets of 1–10 reps.

A 2% difference is used to label rising, falling or similar performance. This is a review rule, not statistical certainty. Technique, effort, equipment settings and session plans can differ. Lower logged performance does not establish strength loss, muscle loss or overtraining. Bodyweight, assisted and custom exercises are not assigned a strength direction.

The weight chart summarizes your recorded weigh-ins and their trend over time. The supported seven-day pace describes weight change; it does not measure fat or muscle change or set your calorie targets.

In weight-trend builds, smoothing follows changes gradually, so the curve can lag a sustained change. The seven-day pace comes from that displayed curve and needs enough recent supporting weigh-ins. It can remain unavailable when individual readings strongly affect it, even when the chart is visible. Water shifts, weighing-time differences and gaps in your logs can affect the trend. Check the displayed coverage and latest weigh-in date when reviewing it.

Profile-based setup and targets you enter remain available. Coach cannot change your logs or targets.

Scan meal and Describe food

Take or choose a meal photo, or describe what you ate and how much. Include quantities, cooking oils, sauces and drinks when you can.

Choosing a photo does not send it. When you tap Estimate meal, the description and any selected meal photo go through DoseBuilt to OpenAI under your AI sharing agreement. Food estimates do not send your Coach conversation or fitness history. Photos are prepared as resized JPEGs and are not added to your diary or fitness backups. Temporary device copies are not promised immediate erasure.

Review every estimate before logging. AI can miss portions, ingredients, oils and sauces; an estimate is not a verified nutrition label. You can edit foods and nutrition values. Changing a written serving amount does not recalculate its nutrition values; edit those values or change the number of portions to scale the estimate.

Only the foods you confirm are added to your diary. Those saved entries follow your fitness-backup choices. Check current package labels when available.

Your sharing choices

Open the Log summaries or Recent chat control at the top of Coach to change the two context switches. Turning off summaries stops new summaries from being attached. Earlier replies may still contain details you shared before. Turn off recent conversation too, or start a new chat, to leave that earlier context out of future requests.

Your AI agreement and explicit context choices are saved for your DoseBuilt account on this device or browser. They do not automatically apply to your other devices. In Account, open DoseBuilt membership and find AI privacy to remove permission.

Removing permission blocks new Coach and food AI requests here and cancels pending work in the app. A request already dispatched may still be processed, and information already sent cannot be recalled. Removing permission does not delete diary entries or previously shared data. Remove permission separately on your other devices.

Coach conversation history is temporary and is excluded from fitness backups. A full app restart or relevant account, log, date or workspace changes can clear it. Switching tabs or briefly backgrounding the app does not necessarily clear it. Leaving Coach cancels pending app work; cancellation cannot recall information already sent.

Buying or restoring membership does not by itself grant AI sharing permission. If you decline AI sharing, manual logging, barcode lookup, charts and local log insights remain available.

Request limits

The current TestFlight membership includes 300 Coach messages and 150 combined Scan meal and Describe food requests per UTC calendar month. Both billing options use the same monthly allowances. They reset at 00:00 UTC on the first day of the month, with no rollover.

A request accepted for AI processing reserves one use. A photo and description sent together for one estimate use one request. Clarification responses count; sending a further response is another request. Confirmed failures are returned to your allowance. A request with an unknown outcome after a timeout or lost connection may still count. Cooldowns and temporary service limits can apply.

Use Membership in the app to see your current access, usage and purchase details. Restoring or buying again does not reset the month's usage. Current TestFlight membership purchases use Apple Sandbox and do not charge real money. Physical-goods purchases from the separate DoseBuilt store are real transactions.

Privacy and help

The current AI handlers do not create stored server conversations or save meal photos, and request that OpenAI disable saved response storage. This does not guarantee zero retention. Provider safety, abuse-monitoring and legal retention can still apply.

For the full account, data, retention, deletion and sharing information, read the DoseBuilt TestFlight Privacy Notice. The TestFlight Beta Terms describe beta eligibility and testing limits.

This page explains the current app's features and controls. It does not create a new agreement or change your saved choices. For help, contact support@dosebuilt.co.
